Terms of Service

These laundromat terms of service form a legally binding agreement between Bright Wash Ltd (“Bright Wash Laundromat”, “we”, “our”, “us”) and you, the customer (“you”, “your”). By ordering or using any self-service or pickup-and-delivery laundry service at our New Lynn location, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these terms.


1. Scope of Services

Bright Wash provides Speed Queen self-service washers & dryers, ancillary vending services, and optional pickup-and-delivery. Service availability may vary without prior notice.

2. Payment & Pricing

  • Machines accept $1 / $2 coins and Bright Wash tokens; prices are displayed on each machine.

  • Card transactions (e.g., online top-ups) are processed securely via Stripe.

  • We may adjust prices at any time (see 9 – Price Changes).

3. Liability for Missing or Damaged Goods & Special-Care Items

  1. We are not liable for money, jewellery, or other valuables left in garments or bags.

  2. We do not guarantee complete stain removal.

  3. Liability for delicate garments requiring special care is disclaimed.

  4. Industry-standard washing & drying practices are followed to maintain quality.

  5. Laundry is accepted by weight; we do not inventory items piece-by-piece.

  6. We cannot consult every manufacturer care label within time limits.

  7. Only front-load washers with fast extraction cycles are used.

  8. Normal wear, tear, shrinkage, or colour-run during washing/drying is not our responsibility.

  9. We reserve the right to refuse any garment.

  10. Assess garment risk before leaving items with us.

4. Notification of Loss or Damage

Notify us within three (3) business days of delivery or machine completion regarding any loss or damage; otherwise claims are waived.

5. Online Theft

Customers acknowledge the risks of online ordering and payment. Bright Wash is not liable for damages resulting from customer negligence, misuse, or online theft while transacting.

6. Pickup & Delivery

  • Provide accurate pickup/drop addresses and ensure laundry is ready.

  • Weight over-declarations may incur recovery fees (no greater than the posted per-kg price).

  • Same-day service is attempted where advertised, but may vary (see 10 – Delays & Cancellations).

7. Safety & Conduct

  • Children must be supervised.

  • No smoking, alcohol, or illegal substances.

  • 24/7 CCTV is in operation.

  • Follow posted instructions to avoid equipment damage or injury.

8. Allergy Notice

Shared machines may retain trace detergents that could trigger allergies. By using our services, you accept this risk.

9. Price Changes

We may change prices without prior notice. Final price is displayed before payment. If weight declared for pickup & delivery is exceeded, we reserve the right to recover the difference or cancel orders.

10. Delays & Cancellations

We may extend delivery times or cancel orders due to unsafe conditions or other operational reasons. Cancellations may be requested via our Contact page.

11. Limited Liability & Disclaimer

TOTAL LIABILITY IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE AFFECTED SERVICE. Bright Wash is not liable for consequential, special, indirect, incidental, or punitive damages. All express or implied warranties are disclaimed to the maximum extent permitted by New Zealand law.

12. Entire Agreement & Governing Law

These laundromat terms of service, plus any referenced documents, constitute the entire agreement and are governed by New Zealand law. Amendments must be in writing and signed by both parties.

The services provided by Bright Wash Laundromat (Bright Wash Ltd, “The Company”), which has accepted and processed your order, are contingent upon your compliance with the terms and conditions outlined herein.

We urge you to read this agreement thoroughly. By utilizing any services offered by Bright Wash Laundromat, you (“Customer”) signify your acceptance and agreement to be bound by these terms.

This agreement represents a legal contract exclusively between Bright Wash Laundromat and the Customer, and does not establish any relationship with third parties. As a condition for utilizing the services provided by Bright Wash Laundromat, the Customer hereby acknowledges and agrees to the following terms and conditions:

** Missing or Damaged Goods, Special Care Items and Delays:**

  1. Bright Wash Laundromat is not liable for the loss of or damage to any personal or non-cleanable items that may be left in clothing or bags, including but not limited to money, jewelry, etc.
  2. There is no guarantee regarding the complete removal of all stains.
  3. Liability for damage to delicate items requiring special care is disclaimed.
  4. Bright Wash Laundromat will employ industry-standard practices to ensure that washing, drying, and folding services maintain an acceptable quality level.
  5. All Customer garments are accepted based upon weight and Bright Wash Laundromat does not conduct a piece-by-piece inventory.
  6. Due to time limitations, Bright Wash Laundromat does not consult manufacturer-recommended care and washing/drying labels.
  7. Only front-load washers with a fast extraction cycle are utilized to clean Customer clothing.
  8. Bright Wash Laundromat reserves the right to extend the set delivery timeframe as the company sees fit or necessary.  And is not liable for any damages related to this change in time/lateness.
  9. Bright Wash Laundromat disclaims any liability for the inability to fulfill an order due to dangerous conditions affecting the safety of its employees.
  10. Bright Wash Laundromat does not accept liability for damage resulting from normal wear and tear or shrinkage that may occur during the washing and drying processes.
  11. Bright Wash Laundromat reserves the right to refuse service for any garment.
  12. Customers are encouraged to assess their willingness to accept the potential loss of any garment; if this is not acceptable, please refrain from leaving the item with us.
  13. Bright Wash Laundromat reserves the right to send Customer garments to any of its facilities or those of its affiliates for the purpose of washing, drying, and folding services.
  14. Customers of Bright Wash Laundromat acknowledge the dangers of using online ordering and payment methods. Although Bright Wash Laundromat will take the appropriate safety measures, it will not be held accountable for any damages brought on by the carelessness of its customers.

Customers must notify Bright Wash Laundromat within three (3) business days of receiving a delivery regarding any lost or damaged items from that particular delivery. Failure to provide such notification will result in the waiver of any claims related to lost or damaged items associated with that delivery.

**Allergy Notice:**

Customers are advised that Bright Wash Laundromat operates with shared washing machines in which various detergents are utilized. It is possible for trace amounts of previous detergents, which may not be hypoallergenic or could trigger allergies, to remain in the washing machines. By choosing to use the services provided by Bright Wash Laundromat, including but not limited to washing, drying, and folding, the customer acknowledges and accepts the inherent risks associated with this possibility.

**Entire Agreement / Law:**

This agreement, along with any referenced documents, constitutes the complete and exclusive understanding between the parties involved. Modifications to this agreement may only be made in writing and must be signed by both parties. This agreement shall be governed by the laws of New Zealand in which the services are rendered.

**Disclaimer:**

THE LIABILITY OF BRIGHT WASH LTD UNDER THIS AGREEMENT SHALL BE LIMITED TO GENERAL MONEY DAMAGES NOT EXCEEDING THE TOTAL FEES PAID BY THE CUSTOMER FOR THE SERVICES RENDERED DURING THE TIMEFRAME IN WHICH THE CLAIMED DAMAGES OCCURRED. THIS LIMITATION SHALL APPLY REGARDLESS OF THE LEGAL OR EQUITABLE NATURE OF THE CLAIM. THIS REPRESENTS THE EXCLUSIVE REMEDY AVAILABLE TO THE CUSTOMER. UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES SHALL BRIGHT WASH LTD BE LIABLE FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR PUNITIVE LOSSES OR DAMAGES, WHETHER OR NOT BRIGHT WASH LTD WAS AWARE OF THE POTENTIAL FOR SUCH DAMAGES. BRIGHT WASH LTD HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTIES WITH RESPECT TO THE SERVICES PERFORMED UNDER THIS AGREEMENT.
